You are always in the exact right moment of your life
As the new year is in full swing and talk of making this our best year yet is at an all-time high, I wanted to reach out and remind anyone who might be struggling with their situation or circumstances right now - you are not alone and your 2022 still has the potential to be more than you ever imagined it could.
My year definitely did not begin the way I thought it would, I’m grieving my mum, I’m unproductive, my business is not operating at the level it should be and the next 12 months is looking nothing like the way I forecasted it to look like at the end of last year.
Truthfully I’m sadder than I ever thought I could be (which is especially hard when 80% of your business is built on your positive mindset). I often feel overwhelmed instead of motivated and sometimes discouraged rather than hopeful. Despite all this, despite the feeling that the goals I set will not be reached, that expectations need to be lowered, that everything I worked so hard to build momentum for, has come to a grinding halt.
One thing I know for sure.
I am where I'm meant to be right now. Don’t get me wrong, I don't want to be here.
But I believe I’m here for a reason. The grief, the overwhelm, the storm I'm in WILL pass and in its wake, I will clear my path. And you will too. You are always in the exact right moment of your life, exactly when you are in it. You cannot do your life wrong. Whilst you can always want more, it is impossible for you to ever be less than you should be.
No matter the mess, the stress, the sadness, or hardships that come your way. You are constantly learning a new way to survive. With each new lesson comes more experience, depth, and opportunity. Just like failure in business is the quickest way to success. I truly believe in life, every time you survive, you are one step closer to learning to thrive.
For me, I know the space I'm holding for grief will eventually open up and I’ll have brand new choices I can make. Choices there weren't space for before.
Rather than be in the midst of a jam-packed year of coaching clients and launching courses. I’ll be able to choose what work is really important to me. I might choose to create something completely new and totally unexpected from something only this moment in time could have taught me. I might go in a completely new direction, that takes me to my next level doing something I never could have imagined if I hadn't had to pause and take a moment to live in loss.
So much can change, overnight, in a week, over the course of a year. And I'm open to the purge and clearing only a massive storm can bring.
If you're in your own storm right now whether that’s circumstantial, emotional, mental, or physical.
It’s ok to not see the path forward right now...
It’s not your job to predict the positive outcome in advance
It’s not necessary to know how to take the next step
It’s only your ability to remain open-hearted that matters.
A closed door never stops the storm but it might stop you leaving the house when it passes. Be open to knowing that better days are on their way and be willing to see a new and unexpected path when it comes. No matter where you are or what you are going through - I hope your current storm is the beginning of a beautiful new journey and you just need to hold on a little while longer to go on it.
But for now… I hope you know, you are not alone and during stormy weather, we can hold our hearts and doors open together
