Law of Rhythm
If you say the word Rhythm, what immediately comes to mind?
That it is a dancer? Or maybe you were more Rhythm of the night??! (I’ll stop with the 90’s songs now) Maybe a heartbeat or breathing? My mind went straight to music. There I was, back in my first school, tongue poking out the side of my mouth, while I tried desperately hard to whack a set of coconut shells together, in time with the rest of the “orchestra” (ha! Who were we kidding??! We were 6!!!) in the right sequence for a donkey walking in Little Donkey. Every. Single. Christmas.
So when the Universal Law of Rhythm came up, I was partly excited…and partly suffering anxiety from the stress of those blooming coconut shells! I needn’t have worried.
The universal law of rhythm states that everything in the universe moves in a rhythmic pattern. Just like the tides rise and fall, the sun rises and sets, and the seasons change, our lives also move through a series of cycles and patterns. It is a fundamental principle that governs everything in the universe, stating that everything in existence has a natural ebb and flow, a constant cycle of ups and downs, and a periodic rise and fall. This can even be seen in our own personal lives.
This law teaches us that there are both high and low points in our lives and that everything is constantly in a state of change. This means that if we're going through a tough time, we can take comfort in knowing that things will eventually get better. Easier said than done, right? When the bad stuff is all around you, it takes a certain type of person to smile and say “It's okay, because it won't last forever”, when forever is exactly how it feels! (A quick reference here to the amazing Tom Hanks video “this too shall pass”, which is worth a watch. And also you may remember Nikki touching on this in a recent Meant For This Monday!)
But, stop for a moment and think. Think back on the rubbish stuff. It did get better. Maybe not right away…and certainly not in a time frame that we would have wanted….but it did get better.
In fact, if you think about it, every “worst day of your life”, you have survived. Every single time. Yes, it might have hurt like hell… but I bet you learnt something from it!
However, and I am going to make this fast because it is pretty rubbish to be the bearer of this news… if we're experiencing a high point, we should appreciate it fully because we know that it won't last forever.
Ouch.
That knocks you a bit, doesn’t it?! Because for all the amazing work that you have done so far in Meant for This, there’s that little inner voice that says “See…told you it won’t last forever” with that little smug smile that makes you just want to scream.
Let's move on quick.
Now, I wouldn’t blame you for wondering, "What does this have to do with manifestation?" Well, understanding the law of rhythm can help us to better align ourselves with the natural rhythms of the universe. When we're in tune with these rhythms, we can more easily manifest our desires and achieve our goals.
For example, let's say you're trying to manifest a new job. You might hit a rough patch where you're not getting any callbacks or interviews. Instead of getting discouraged, as much as it sucks, remember that this is just part of the natural rhythm of things. And when the right opportunity does
come along, you'll be ready to seize it because you have been in sync with the natural rhythms of the universe. The universe is constantly moving and changing, and your manifestation will come in its own time.
However, stay positive. Just like the tides, our lives have ups and downs. When things are going well, it's easy to stay positive and focused on our goals. But when we hit a low point, it can be challenging to stay optimistic. Remembering that everything moves in cycles can help you to stay positive during the tough times. Trust that the universe has a plan for you and that everything will eventually work out.
The law of rhythm basically teaches us to go with the flow of life. Sometimes, we try to force things to happen, which can cause stress and resistance. Instead, try to surrender to the natural rhythms of the universe. This doesn't mean giving up on your goals or dreams, but rather allowing things to unfold in their own time and in their own way.
Trust in the universe. This law reminds us that everything is connected and that we're all part of a larger cosmic plan. Trust that the universe is working in your favour and that everything is happening for a reason. When you trust in the universe, you can relax and let go of any fears or doubts you may have about your manifestation practice.
Just breathe….. inhale………. and exhale……. and let the rhythm of your life sweep you up for one hell of a dance!
