Law of Action

With the new year comes a new Universal Law, and because of the enthusiasm that a New Year inevitably brings, it seems only fitting that we should pair it with… *cue fanfare*… the law of inspired action!

For some, a new year means new expectations… a new beginning… a chance to start over. For others, it's time to set goals and challenges, both personally and professionally, to help them live their best life. To become the very best version of themselves. This year is going to be absolutely amazing!

And then... well… nothing. Nowt. Nada. And it's New Year’s fault.

Now, there is a saying – “If you do what you’ve always done, you will get what you’ve always got”- which pops in nicely here. Side note, I can’t specify who came up with the quote, because it just seems to be something that we have all heard “from someone somewhere at some time”, and a quick Google will name anyone from Einstein to Tony Robbins as the author. Whoever said it though, thanks, because it fits perfectly with the law of action!

The law of action states that, in order to get what we want, we actually need to take action towards it. It states that when we are inspired and aligned with our goals and values, we will naturally take action towards achieving them. This means that when we are motivated and passionate about something, we are more likely to take the steps necessary to make it a reality.

Well……yeah. That seems obvious surely?!

Ah, but is it?

Let's look at it in relation to some good old new year's resolutions.

“This year I am going to lose weight and exercise”. Ok, great! Let's get up early and go for a run. “Are you serious?! It's still dark / raining / cold / I’m all snuggled and warm / just no”.

“This year I am going to earn more money”. Amazing! So new job then? “Nah, I’ve been there so long that it jeopardises my parking space /my commute/redundancy amount should it ever happen / my awesome work family…plus I can do it with my eyes closed” etc.

“This year I am going to eat healthier and cut out alcohol”. Fab! So let's start meal prepping and give those leftover bottles to the neighbours. “Ummm, well there is still so much leftover food from Christmas that it would be such a terrible waste / after the day I have had, you can prise those bottles out of my cold, dead fingers”.

You get the idea! If you can think of an excuse not to, you don’t want it badly enough.

When it comes to resolutions, we only see them as a fail or win, when actually they are nothing more than goals that we ordinarily set ourselves at any other time of the year. The key to this law is finding what inspires us and aligning our actions with that inspiration. This can involve setting goals that align with our values and passions, creating a clear vision for what we want to achieve, and taking consistent and persistent action towards our goals.

So, let's use this opportunity to look again at our goals. At what we want. Can we verbalise it and be specific? Because we know by now that the universe only deals in specifics. Can we look at the goal and map out a proverbial road to get us there? Because if we don’t know how it could be done, are we just expecting the universe to pick us up and drop us at the finish point, sneezing the fairy dust out as we go? Does it actually excite us and get our blood pumping and our bellies bubbling? Because what the hell are we doing it for if not?!

It is important to note that inspiration does not always come easily and may require effort to cultivate. This can involve finding ways to get in touch with our values and passions, seeking out new experiences and learning opportunities, and surrounding ourselves with people and environments that inspire us. Like this community. Talk to us. Share what you want. If you have been a bit of a lurker previously, step forward and say hi! The Meant For This community has developed into this awesome group of women who have your back and will celebrate every success. If you need support, you’ve got it!

Ultimately, the universal law of inspired action reminds us that when we are inspired and aligned with our goals, we are more likely to take the actions necessary to make them a reality. By finding what inspires us and aligning our actions with that inspiration, we can live more fulfilling and meaningful lives.

Let us work with you to ensure that 2023 is as freaking fabulous as you want (and deserve) it to be!
