Reframing technique

This month’s mindset focus is to practise our REFRAMING technique.

Reframing our mindset provides us with an opportunity to think differently about a situation to discover a new perspective that is usually more positive or beneficial for our productivity or wellbeing. An easy example: if you see a glass of water as half empty, a more positive ‘reframe’ would be to see the same glass of water as half full instead.

This month you will be reframing ‘wanting’ something or the negative feelings or envy or jealousy into gratitude and signs that what we want is on its way.

TASK: Every time you see something you want but don’t currently have (for example, a car you would like, a house you would love to own, a designer handbag that is on your wishlist, an IG pic of someone on holiday at your dream destination), immediately say “Thank you!”.

WHY THIS WORKS

Gratitude is the easiest way to cause an immediate state change. By saying thank you - you can easily turn any negative feelings such as envy into feeling happy and positive about seeing something you’d love to have.

LOA bonus: You also become a powerful energetic match for the things you are most grateful for.

EXTRA CREDIT: When you see something you want (that you don’t have), immediately say Evidence!

WHY THIS WORKS

Rather than experiencing envy through the negative emotion of “lack” you are training your mind to see the things you don’t currently have through the lens of  - “I am being shown the things I want as evidence that …

  1. They are real

  2. They are available and I can have them too

  3. The more I see them the closer, I am to having them

On a personal note: This is one of my favourite, most VIBEY reframes, it’s a mindset game I play often and gives me a tremendous amount of joy to squeal with delight when I see other people with the things I would love to have.
